Thrift & Tally

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

Try it first

Every new household gets a 14-day free trial with no card required, so you can decide whether Thrift & Tally is right for you before paying anything.

Cancelling

You can cancel any time from Account → Billing → Manage billing (Stripe's customer portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep full access until then, you won't be charged again, and afterwards your household moves to the Free plan (up to 25 items; nothing is deleted). You can still sign in, use and export your data.

Refunds

  • Monthly plans: payments aren't refunded for partial months. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
  • Yearly plans: if you ask within 14 days of a yearly charge (your first year or a renewal), we'll refund it in full and end the subscription. After 14 days, yearly payments aren't refunded, but you keep access until the year ends.
  • Mistakes and problems on our side: if you were charged in error, charged twice, or couldn't use the service because of an outage on our end, we'll refund the affected amount whatever your plan.
  • If we ever shut the service down, we'll refund the unused part of any yearly subscription.

This policy doesn't limit any refund rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

How to ask for a refund

Email [email protected] from the household owner's email address, with the date of the charge. We'll reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original card through Stripe and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days.

Switching plans

You can switch between monthly and yearly in the billing portal. Moving to yearly takes effect straight away, with credit for the unused part of your month. Moving from yearly to monthly takes effect when your current year ends.
